But that was sort of made up the day before, and I thought, "This is great. And that's fun, you think, "When am I ever going to stand in a swamp again?"īut there was a great scene in the makeshift lean-to in the rain, which I don't want to give it away because it's a nice little comedy moment. Patrick Ness: I was on set during a very swampy day, with a swamp that had actual leeches in it.
How was watching your book come to life? Is there a favorite scene that you saw filmed? Doesn't feel like something we've really seen before, but it feels like exactly what visualized thought would be. You can see them flying out the back of his head, and that to me is perfect. And I set all of that aside, because the scene that I love the most about the noise is a small scene in the movie, where Daisy Ridley is walking up the hill and Tom Holland is behind her thinking grumpy thoughts about her.
In my vision, it was slightly different in the book, but only slightly. It was from the very, very start, "How are we going to do this so it's not a mess? So it's not oppressive, so it's not confusing." And I saw many, many different versions as they tried, "How does this look? How does this look?" Patrick Ness: It was definitely the very longest conversation we had.
